Music by:
Dick and the Roadmasters
Dick Buchholz started loving the blues when most folks were still discovering the Beatles. A bass playing friend brought over Howlin' Wolf 's "Little Red Rooster" and Bobby Bland's version of "Stormy Monday Blues", and the ball was rolling.
It's never been easy to make a living in music, but Dick has managed to do just that for over thirty years by playing a variety of material on stage and in the studio in addition to owning a retail
guitar shop, now a 'web' based business, and currently teaching guitar and bass at three different Cincinnati area locations, and writing a bi-monthly column for Guitar Digest magazine. But he always loved to play the blues.
Playing the blues jams around Cincinnati, and doing backing work with Cincinnati staples such as David Preston Blues Band and East End Blues Revue allowed Dick to play the music he
loved.
Dick and the Roadmasters include bassist John Hack from Dayton, OH, C Alan Smith from North Carolina on drums, who brings an impressive set of credentials including stints with The Ohio Players and The O'Kaysions. Dick and Alan go back to the mid 70's when they went out on their first 'real road gig' with the show band, Living
Color.
The Roadmasters' early rehearsals, and all succeeding work were done at One Night On Earth Studios in Cincinnati.
We are pleased to have Dick
and the Roadmasters with us on June 29th, featuring: C Alan Smith,
drums; Ed Riley, bass; Candy Riley, keyboard; Dick Buchholz, guitar; and
Jane Neumeier on Flute.
